Yesterday, we went to see Pandas and today to the local amusement park. We also finalized some adoption paperwork today.
Caleb sleeps great at night and nap time. He is a great eater but just a little slow about eating. He takes medicine well and lets us put in his eye drops without fussing. He also lets me wipe his nose about 100 times a day without a word.
He is a very busy boy. Jason and I knew from video, pictures and descriptive words that he was going to be rambunctious and he most definitely is…….and I think that is why he has the bruises on his legs. He falls constantly. I am sure the vision issues play a factor too. 🙂
The weather here is beautiful. It is so nice in jeans and tees. However, the Chinese people think it is cold and where coats. Our room is about 80 degrees making it hard to sleep and relax. When we asked about the air conditioner they said it is not the time of year to use and that it is turned off. Then we asked about a fan. And they do not have fans.
So we spend our evenings at the local McDonalds. There are 3 American restaurants here. They make ordering easy by giving us pictures to order by. We go to McDonalds to just hang out so we are in a cool place.
Our 5 star hotel has a pool. We put on our swim suits and headed down to the basement to go swim. They said we had to wear swim caps. Of course we do not have swim caps. It would have cost our family $150 American dollars to go swim. No thanks!
Going back to McDonalds. Last night we went to order ice cream cones. The cashier put up a “closed register” sign when it was our time to order. She did not want to take our order:(
We are still the only Americans here that we have seen making getting around a little crazy sometimes. We are stopped numerous times and our guide has to get us out of certain situations when we are surrounded.
Ella-Lu had her first melt down today. She really has done great traveling. We keep her in her carrier when we are out and about in the busy streets.
My straight iron fried on day two but not before it fried my bangs:( My hair is going to look crazy in every picture in China.
Isabel, Mattie and Noah do not skip a beat with all the comings and goings. They are doing great:) Caleb is already learning their names.
We sleep about 10 hours every night. Thankful we all get great rest to stay healthy and energized.
This is our last night in Chengdu City. Tomorrow we fly to GZ where we will be the remaining of our time. Hope to have better access to internet. And air conditioning at the Garden Hotel….and to go swimming:)
We will also meet up with other LifeLine Families there who have their adopted and bio children.
We appreciate your continued prayers, support and encouragement.
